HELPING HANDS

To date we have worked on more than 290 homes of low income elderly in the Concho Valley!

This program provides light rehabilitation and repairs for low- income and senior homeowners near or in San Angelo. Through our use of volunteers, we repair around 40 homes over an April weekend blitz. Household income must be below 80% of the HUD median income for their family size.

Helping Hands

Helping Hands, operating under the 501(c)(3) of the Galilee Community Development Corporation, provides San Angelo and surrounding rural area residents with a resource to provide services for low-income elderly (over 60 years old) homeowners in need of assistance get light repairs done on their homes.   

“Helping Hands allows home owners to stay in their homes for a longer period of time.  It is a way to give back to those who have laid the foundation for where we are today.” 

Each person interested in receiving help from Helping Hands must complete an application and provide the following  documents:

  • Photo Identification for all adults residing in the household (driver’s license, Texas ID, Military ID, or Passport

  • Social Security Card for every person in the household

  • Birth Certificate(s) for all children residing in the household

  • Verification of all income for any person that is working or receiving income and residing in the household (Social Security Statement, 3 most recent pay stubs, if working)

  • Warranty Deed must be recorded
